Electronics Waste Recycling & Paper Shredding Event

Not sure what to do with your old and unused electronics, tires or bank statements? The Town of Batesburg-Leesville will host a disposal and recycling event on March 11th from 9AM – 1PM in the Southern Tool Works parking lot (438 West Railroad Avenue), formerly Piggly Wiggly in Batesburg. Residents will have the opportunity to dispose of tires, recycle electronic waste and shred sensitive, unneeded documents. This event is in partnership with Advanced Disposal, Lexington County Solid Waste Management, Shred With Us, and PalmettoPride.

Below is a list of items being accepted for disposal and recycling:

  • Tires – limit 8 per resident of Batesburg-Leesville. Must not be on rims and only passenger or light truck tires will be accepted. No commercial dealers will be allowed to dispose of tires.
  • Paper Shredding – paper only. No binders, books, or plastic coated paper (magazines). Staples and paperclips are acceptable.
  • E-Waste – up to 8 items per visit from Lexington County residents and small businesses. Items can be computers, TV’s, copiers, VCR and DVD players, fax machines, telephone systems, cell phones household electronics including stereo’s, radio’s, PDA’s and electronic game systems. Electronic waste must have been generated in Lexington County for this event, and residents should keep electronics intact for the purpose of recycling.
