The Batesburg-Leesville Fire Department is a part of the town of Batesburg-Leesville. Located in the southwest corner of Lexington County, the department provides services to the town and contracted areas of Lexington and Saluda County. In addition, the department supports neighboring departments in Aiken County. Under the direction of Chief Tommy Shealy, the department's two stations provide primary fire and emergency response support to an approximately 84 square mile area. The department has been solely volunteer until July 1999 when the first paid firefighter was hired to assist in the management of equipment, fire inspections, fire education, and fire response.

Training courses include basic firefighting operations, first aid, driver training, extrication instruction, rope use, etc. Personnel attend the South Carolina Fire Academy for many courses while also participating in departmental courses during a year.
