OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Batesburg-Leesville Fire Department is to develop and maintain an emergency response organization that will assist and protect the residents of Batesburg-Leesville. One of the primary goals of this organization is to be capable of responding to emergency calls with the proper amount of equipment and training to minimize the impact of an emergency to the individual.

The Batesburg-Leesville Fire Department supports the Town of Batesburg-Leesville with the specific objectives as follows:

· Provide direction and oversight to all fire protection and prevention programs

· Provide an independent vehicle rescue capability

· Provide emergency services to contracted areas

· Enable the Town of Batesburg-Leesville to both safely and effectively meet its commitments to the residents of this community and other contracted areas by providing a quality emergency response service which can respond with trained and equipped personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to achieve this mission, the Batesburg-Leesville Fire Department is responsible and accountable for the following:

· Providing oversight of fire and rescue programs

· Providing and maintaining resources that can adequately respond to multiple emergencies without a resulting loss of quality service.

· Ensuring that the department complies with all regulatory standards.

· Maintaining expertise regarding fire protection and providing interpretation and guidance to the Town’s governing body.

· Providing for the safety of departmental personnel in the performance of their duties.

· Ensuring that personnel are provided adequate training to meet the requirements of their day to day tasks.
