Rate Increase Information
Effective July 1, 2023 the Town of Batesburg-Leesville will see increases in three categories on your utility bill.
Water customers will see a base rate and water rate increase beginning with the August bill.
- Base Rate (In-Town): Increase from $13.45 to $15.95 per month (standard 3/4” meter)
- Base Rate (Out-of-Town): Increase from $26.90 to $31.90 per month (standard 3/4” meter)
- Per 1,000 gallon rate (In-Town): Increase from $4,91/1,000 gallons to $5.50/1,000 gallons
- Per 1,000 gallon rate (Out-of-Town): Increase from $7.37/1,000 gallons to $8.25/1,000 gallons
Trash customers will see an increase of $4.79 per month to a total of $19.06. This rate increase is due to costs increases from Waste Management for this contracted service.

Spring is here and we are busy preparing for some fun events in Batesburg-Leesville! The SC Poultry Festival Committee is hard at work preparing for the annual SC Poultry Festival on Mother’s Day weekend and the town is sponsoring Cody Webb performing in College Park in June.
In B-L our two unique historic downtown business districts, anchored by small businesses, are being revitalized as we evolve into a destination town. We are the center where rural and urban meet to enjoy the commonalities of life. Visit our local farmers and producers for healthy homegrown food. And please come and enjoy a visit for BBQ, wings, a crafted coffee, and treasure shopping!

Fats, Oils and Grease Ordinance Proposals
The Batesburg-Leesville Town Council is considering implementation of a FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) Program dealing with commercial food preparation.
