AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE BATESBURG-LEESVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES, TITLE 4, ARTICLE G-RATES AND CHARGES, SECTION
4-1-113 SCHEDULE OF WATER AND SEWER CHARGES
WHEREAS, the Town of Batesburg-Leesville (“Town”) has established water and sewer rates for customers of its water and sewer systems;
WHEREAS, due to the increase in economic development prospects, Town believes that the amendment of the current schedule of water and sewer charges for industrial customers, to allow for a negotiated rate, will promote economic development within Town and is in the best interest of its citizens and residents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED THAT Batesburg-Leesville Town Council does hereby approve the Amendment to the Batesburg-Leesville Code of Ordinances, Title 4, Article G-Rates and Charges, Section 4-1-113 Schedule of Water and Sewer Charges, to read as follows:
4-1-113 SCHEDULE OF WATER AND SEWER CHARGES.
(a) A monthly sewer charge is hereby imposed upon all users of the town's sewer system; such charge shall be fixed from time to time by the council.
(b) In addition, users will be billed an amount set by the council in relation to their water usage.
(c) The Town Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate sewer and water rates of the Town for industrial customers. To be permitted, all negotiated sewer and water rates for industrial customers shall be approved by Town Council. Industrial Customer for purposes of this section is defined as: A water and/or sewer customer whose enterprise activities relate to the manufacturing or production of goods.
