Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Since 1991 the Town of Batesburg-Leesville has hosted a community Easter Egg Hunt at Leesville College Park.  The event is held the week before Easter and features an egg hunt for ages six and under, games, activities, food and more.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South Carolina Poultry Festival
May 11-13, 2023

The South Carolina Poultry Festival is held annually on the second weekend of May. Since 1987, the festival has continued to grow and now draws over 100,000 people each year during this 3 day event. This wonderful family event has rides for small children and adults. On Saturday, many vendors line the streets of Main Street in the Leesville district to showcase and sale their crafts. The festival also consists of a parade, volleyball tournament, great food, 5K Run/Walk, fireworks display, music, and much more. Peachtree 23 Yard Sale
June 3-4, 2022

Located on "The Ridge" in South Carolina, the Peachtree 23 Yard Sale event is a one-of-a-kind "stop and go experience" you don't want to miss!! Expanding 44 miles along SC Highway 23 - Batesburg-Leesville to Modoc, SC - running through 7 towns you will find everything from clothing, jewelry, furniture, household items, and much more. Also, along the route, you will find Farmers & Artist's Markets carrying fruit and vegetables in season, and local restaurants will be ready to nourish you when you need to re-fuel. Peachtree 23 occurs annually on the first Friday & Saturday in June. Each Town suspends yard sale permits for the event, but ask that you contact individual Town Halls to sign up.

Summer Movie Nights

The 2022 Movie Nights in the Park series will feature family friendly movies being shown underneath the stars in Leesville College Park on June 10th and July 8th.  On August 5th the movie venue shifts to Batesburg-Leesville High School's Panther Stadium.  Movies will begin at dark, around 9:00pm, and are free to the public.  Light refreshments will be provided by Hulon Baptist Church and the Town of Batesburg-Leesville and guests can also bring food with them, although alcohol is prohibited.  Families are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs to place on the lawn.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

National Night Out

National Night Out, a yearlong community building campaign, is designed to: (1) heighten crime prevention awareness, (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs, (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Along with traditional outside lights and front porch vigils, Batesburg-Leesville celebrates National Night Out, in conjunction with Lexington County Sherriff's Department, by hosting a block party at Leesville College Park. This event includes a cookout, fun activities for children of all ages , visits from local officials and law enforcement, safety fairs, and youth events.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
Fall for the Arts

Presented by Arts of the Ridge, this small, one day event features live entertainment, food and plenty of local arts and crafts.  It is held annually in the Historic Batesburg District on North Oak Street.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Halloween on Main
October 31, 2023 from 6-8 pm

Batesburg-Leesville's Halloween on Main event has grown of the past several years and is now one of the town's signature events.  Incorporating the town's wide Main Street into a pedestrian friendly (no cars allowed) promenade with homes hosting trick or treaters while church's fill the grass median to provide more treats than tricks to all the "little monsters" at the family friendly event.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Christmas in Leesville

The Leesville Merchant's Association annually hosts Christmas in Leesville on Main Street in the Leesville Historic District.  Downtown stores stay open late while shoppers enjoy the holiday lights and music, a marshmallow roast and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

 

Christmas Movie Night - Wilson Street Park

The Town of Batesburg-Leesville will celebrate the holiday with a new children's favorite, "The Grinch".  The movie will be shown at Wilson Street Park beginning at 6:00 pm.  Snacks and hot chocolate will be available for free.  

 

Annual Christmas Parade

The Batesburg-Leesville Chamber of Commerce host an Annual Christmas Parade every December.  The 2022 parade will begin on Highway One at Hendrix Street (Bojangles) and proceed west (towards Batesburg District) to Oak Street, then turn north on Oak Street and conclude at Railroad Avenue. 

 

Christmas Tree Lighting - Batesburg Business District

The parade will be followed by our Christmas Tree Lighting Event with dancing from Central Carolina Performing Arts, music from the Batesburg-Leesville High School Panther Band and Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School chorus.  Cedar Creek on the Ridge's band will also perform and has been so gracious in providing sound for the event.  A special visitor from Santa Claus is also expected visit with the children.
